JEM LA YE functions purely as an Association loi 1901 dedicated to public cultural utility. All membership fees and dues are fully reinvested in the association's public interest missions. Our volunteers serve in a disinterested capacity without financial remuneration, ensuring all community events remain 100% free of charge to the public.

Assist our choir conductors during Tuesday rehearsals. Help lead breathing warm-ups, guide vocal sectionals (soprano, alto, tenor, bass), and provide friendly support to beginner singers learning multi-part harmony.
Commitment: 2 hrs/weekSupport the physical setup of municipal venues before concerts. Manage acoustic risers, arrange chairs, install wheelchair access ramps, position lighting, and manage stage hospitality for performers and guests.
Commitment: 1 event/monthProvide vital transport for elderly residents and mobility-impaired singers from remote Barguillère valley hamlets to our communal rehearsals in Saint-Martin-de-Caralp. Direct fuel expenses are reimbursed.
Commitment: FlexibleStaff our welcome tables during public sessions, greet newcomers warmly, distribute songbooks and large-font lyric folios, maintain attendance rosters, and answer public questions regarding association life.

JEM LA YE actively supports the French national Service Civique program, welcoming young citizens aged 18 to 25 (up to 30 for persons with disabilities) for 8-month voluntary civic missions dedicated to cultural democratization and rural social link strengthening.
Service Civique volunteers receive an official monthly state indemnity, comprehensive health coverage, and civic training. At JEM LA YE, youth volunteers do not replace professional employees; rather, they serve as ambassadors of intergenerational solidarity, visiting rural retirement homes, gathering elder life stories for choral interpretation, and co-organizing zero-barrier vocal workshops.
Each civic volunteer is paired with an experienced board mentor who provides continuous pedagogical support, ensuring the mission serves as an empowering springboard for their future civic and professional journey.
